Access Statement for Trevenna Lodge Guest House Tintagel.

 

Introduction

Trevenna Lodge guest house offers Bed and Breakfast accommodation in Tintagel village,

It has 6 letting rooms.

All rooms are located on the 1st and 2nd floor, there are no ground floor letting rooms which may make it difficult for some people with limited mobility,

We are located at the seaside end of Tintagel approximately 200m  from Tintagel’s village shops, pubs and restaurants and of course all of Tintagel’s main attractions. (All 3 to 10 minutes walk away).

The bus stop is approximately 800 metres from Trevenna lodge. The buses go north to Bude or south to Wadebridge via little detours through small villages. They run once an hour and the service stops early evening and has a limited service in the winter and on Sundays.

The nearest train station is Bodmin Parkway, a 45 minute drive away via a taxi or a bus to Wadebridge and then a connection to the station.

There is a taxi rank located outside the train station.

We do not accommodate pets.

We are a non smoking establishment but smokers are welcome to smoke in the garden or outside the breakfast room, an ashtray can be provided if asked.

Arrival & car parking facilities

An anticipated time of arrival is appreciated.

Rooms are ready from 3pm however rooms are sometimes ready before this time, an earlier arrival can be arranged. Please pull your car into the gravel car park at the front of Trevenna Lodge. The car park is level, and car parking is marked out by railway sleepers. We have 6 car parking spaces, and space for double parking if necessary, we have a hard area for motorbikes, and we can assist guests with parking, we always assist guests with luggage.

Lighting outside in the car park and by the front door has movement censors. There are garden lights around the lawn.

Reception

when entering reception there is a small 100ml lip over the door way then 3 steps down measuring  60ml,180ml then 150ml deep. The reception door is 750ml wide x 1900ml           high 

There is a bell for guests to ring in reception for attention.

Guests are given 24 hr access to Trevenna lodge via a key for the inner door leading to the hall way after checking in,

Inner door is 750ml wide x 1970ml high.  The front door is always left unlocked.

Public areas – Guest Lounge, Breakfast Room cloak room.

The inner hall way is 87ml wide at the narrowest point.

Both reception and hallway are tiled,

From the hall is the Guest Lounge          

Doorway into Guest lounge is 700ml wide x 1970ml high

The lounge has Rug and wooden flooring,

This room is available for guests to use at all times.

The fire place with wood burner is always ready for lighting if guests chose to sit in on a winters evening.

The lounge has a TV, video player, radio , a variety of videos, books and magazines, (full of local information and activities) newspapers, boxed games, colouring books and crayons. From the guest lounge is the Breakfast Room     

Door way into breakfast room from Guest lounge is 920ml wide x 2050ml high

With wooden flooring, 5 wooden breakfast tables and chairs. Able to seat 16 people

At the end of the breakfast room is the

Down stairs cloak room   doorway is 750ml wide x 1950 high        

 With carpeted floor, toilet and basin.

Doorway from Breakfast room out to decked area is 630ml wide x 2020 high.

Step down to decking is 100ml

Main staircase from hall way, has 13 steps, 260ml deep 180ml high x 820ml wide,

The wooden Banister is to the left.

Leading to first floor landing approximately 900ml wide    

Hall is tiled flooring, stairs and landing areas all carpeted

Doorways into rooms 1, 2 and 3 and Bathroom 3, 740 wide x 1950ml high

Top stairs to room 4, 5 and 6 consist of 14 steps 660ml wide x 230ml deep x 200ml high. With a wooden hand rail to the left hand side.

Onto top landing 720ml wide       

Doorway to room 4 is 730ml high x 1850wide    

Door way to room 5 is 590ml high x 1920wide   

Doorway to room 6 is 710ml wide x 840ml high     

Bedrooms and Sleeping Areas

All rooms are non smoking, have good quality fitted carpets and are centrally heated, they have double glazed opening windows with child locks, have Televisions with remote controls, DVD player and radio alarms, WI-FI, hairdryer, refreshment tray, small fridges and information packs. Every room is individually decorated and designed; all double beds have memory foam mattresses.  All rooms have 2 bedside tables with touch lamps, Wardrobe and chest of drawers, with overhead lighting, and full length mirror. Bedding is a different design in each room with cotton duvets on all beds, a sheet and blanket arrangement can be made if preferred prior to arrival.  We have no ground floor letting rooms which may make access difficult for people with limited mobility.

Room 2 Superior – 370ml x 1950ml.   En-suite. 740ml wide x 1950ml high.

Room 3 Double/Twin – 370ml x 1950ml.Bathroom 740ml wide x 1950ml high.

Shower door 600ml wide.   

Second floor

Room 4 Family Double – 730 x 1850.     En-suite 650ml wide x 1830ml high.

Room 5  - 590ml x 1920ml.    En-suite 730ml wide x 1850ml high.                       

Room 6 Single –710ml x 840ml.

PLEASE NOTE The maximum ceiling height in rooms 4. 5 and 6 is 2010ml high with beams 160ml deep protruding from the maximum ceiling height.

Additional Information

We have a comprehensive fire alarm system, maintained annually; there is a fire extinguisher on each floor and a manual break point. This fire alarm system is categorized (A class) by Cornwall fire brigade

There is smoke detector in every room in the house exception of the shower/bathrooms,

Fire exits are on the ground floor through the main entrance and to the rear of the premises.

We cater for all dietary needs if advised when booking.

The best mobile signal is Vodafone. In an emergency the house phone can be used at a small cost.

If required we offer a laundry service also at a small cost if required.
